Meet The Team
Burn baby, Burn!!
Leander van Delden, 37
International globetrotter, who hasn’t done many rallies, but has been driving a lot across Europe. As horsepower lover, he is mainly responsible for the driving and the filming along the way. Can also setup the occasional tent and has experience bribing border guards.
Redmer van Delden, 33
Clearly the youngest member of the team, but mainly responsible for Brutus’s well-being before and during the trip. When he’s not working he will be busy keeping his old Saab up and running. Can also do a fair bit of navigational work and cooking.
Arnoud Prinsen, 36
Does more miles on his bike than in his car. Only got his driving licence in August 2014 (after 16 years of nagging by Leander) and bought his first car a year later. So no driving or rally experience at all. Wondering why he is coming? For the adventure and the long straight stretches in Northern Scandinavia. Is hoping he learned enough during his geography study to navigate the team across the Baltic.
aka A-Team van
GMC Vandura G2500
Brutus joined the team in October 2015 and makes it therefore the rookie of the team, but comes with a lot of road experience.
● 5.7L V8 of brutal engineroarrrr
● 190 horses under the bonnet
● 4-speed automatic transmission
● 4 Captain chairs, in delightful red plush
● 1 Bench/bed, also in delightful red plush
● 4 big wheels and 1 spare (because you’ll never know)
Before we leave Brutus will get some serious TLC to get us home safe again. Brakes and suspension will get an upgrade and the interior and exterior will get a minor facelift. He will look great!
All adventures create data, and great data creates better adventures.
Having an adventure you’ll never forget is one thing. But helping others while you’re at it? That’s where we come in, in fact, it’s the idea behind all S.A.C rallies.
To achieve that goal, each team is required to raise €750 for charity in order to participate in the rally. Half of that money will go to projects that we have carefully vetted to ensure that all contributions go where they should—to the people who truly need them. With the other half of the €750, you are free to pick a charity of your choice to donate to.
What charity projects do we support?
Bringing into public view the daily mismanagement of the world’s oceans and the dangers that come with it is the mission of the non-profit organization DEEPWAVE. Founded in Hamburg in 2003 by biologists and conservationists, DEEPWAVE works domestically and abroad to enlighten policymakers and seeks to propel the protection of the oceans by raising awareness. As a member of the Deep Sea Conservation Coalition, DEEPWAVE has campaigned for marine sanctuaries even outside the widely accepted sovereign boundary zone 200 nautical miles from the coast. DEEPWAVE has also made appeals to prohibit deep-sea trawling in order to protect sensitive cold-water coral.
With the Shark Alliance, DEEPWAVE is working to achieve better shark-protecting measures, demanding that finning be banned and calling for a radical reform of European fishery policy within the framework of the OCEAN2012 campaign. Various member activities, exhibitions, lectures, and brochures, including on the germane topic of garbage in the oceans, offer the committed friend of the sea a chance to learn how we can all better protect our seas.

This project is about to support the people living in Avegame, Togo (Africa), a remote region of the country with little to no infrastructure. The money we raise will be used to build toilets, buy books for the school, and help educate people in how to farm crops which they can sell.
